How we handle data for conversions

When you submit an X/Twitter URL, the server downloads the associated video, converts it to a GIF, and provides the download. Temporary media files are stored only for the duration of the conversion and are deleted after the response is sent. The finished GIF is cached for 30 minutes to make repeat downloads faster.

The only automated system that inspects files or links is a local antivirus scanner. No human reviews files, and no system logs file contents.

We store IP addresses for a short time for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

Log retention is GDPR-conform and follows these periods:

• Security Logs: 12–24 months (incident detection and forensics)
• System Performance Logs: 3–6 months (trend analysis and issue resolution)
• Access Logs: 6–12 months (security monitoring with limited data use)
• Application Logs: 3–6 months (debugging without excessive exposure)
